District II Project

Get Real Academy
An all day workshop for young women in their senior year in high school. Students receive
breakfast and lunch during a full day of interactive participation workshops on what to expect
after graduation. Tips from recruitment personnel, job interviews and several workshops about
the "workplace" with do's and don'ts prepare students for the "real" world. So well attended that
we had to change the venue this year. New location is the Hilton Hotel in Concord, CA.

Our International Project

Operation Orphans International
Serving the orphans in Kakamega, Kenya, Operation Orphans International provides food and
educational opportunity to the orphans in this western village of Kenya. The founder, Tricia
Isayi was one of our awardees this year for the wonderful work accomplished. We will continue
to support Tricia and her husband, Anthony, as they work this year to provide a permanent
boarding school which will include secondary education.
We Are Fundraising "Divas"

How do we support all our various
programs - we fundraise!  Soroptimist
are skilled funraising entrepreneurs
and our various projects contribute
back to the community. Whether it's a
crabfeed, Italian festival or community
street sale, Soroptimist put "fun" into
fundraising.
